Definitely going to buy this. The guys who think that conditional Deity victories will be easy or that winning with only one city on at least King difficulty will be easy have never played Civilization, 1000 will be challenging even for the veterans unless they dumbed the AI down, a lot. |

I agree with The Danielnator Civilization games have been challenging and if you never played it before then your in some trouble its not that easy as say Age of empires |

Some funny achievement names but "Embiggens the Smallest Man" is clearly the best. Nice subtle Simpsons joke! Hopefully the game itself isn't a steaming pile of horse manure. |

i loved the origional civilizations games and i've been waiting for this to come to xbox for a while (computer sucks). Achievements looks pretty varied and looks like it will take awhile to get them all. |

Achievements look good...range from ones you get at the beginning of your first game to ones that will take a while to get (but aren't stupidly long for a single achievement).
"Win all types of victories (Domination, Technology, Cultural, and Economic)."
Noticed that they took out some of the victories...like diplomatic...but I don't remember there being an Economic victory in the earlier civs. |

Having piled hours of my time into the various Civ versions and expansion packs I'll definitely be playing.
Well Barozi I'm sorry that you can't rack up 1000gs in 30 minutes of gameplay on this one but some of us here actually like playing games that last. There are plenty of low effort titles out there so why not just rent one of those instead of complaining about those that aren't. |

This is going to be good. I played Civ II a lot on the PS and have tried to get III and IV to work on my PC with no luck. But I love this kind of games so this is an automatic buy. I just hope I don't get tired of the game before I have collected all the achievements.. |

Who ever thinks beating this game on King or Deity will be easy is nuts and hasn't played a Civ game. Beating the game on King level with only one city will be brutal unless the AI has been dumbed down. |

At first, I thought the list was a decent mix of simple to hard, until I saw the one city achievement. That one will be brutal. I've done the One City Challenge for Civ 3 and well, it took a lot of saving and reloading to get it. It's a nice touch that they are showing tribute to the Civ community with the 1000 A.D. and 1 City achievements as those are two frequent contests that the Civ fansites run.

No, they are not online achievements. All can be done in SP. Nothing wrong with MP ach's as long as they are attainable in player matches IMO. But I'm glad there aren't any in this game as they would probably sound like 'Win 500 ranked games as an English civilization', Win 500 ranked games as an Egyptian civilization etc. LOL :P |
